WASSON WAY
Moving Forward

The Wasson Way is a key component of the expanding CROWN (Cincinnati Riding or Walking Network), a strategic 34-mile urban trail loop designed to connect Cincinnati’s premier trails and expand active-lifestyle opportunities across the region. Current efforts are focused on two major expansions:

  • Westward Expansion: Extending the trail from Blair Court to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near the University of Cincinnati, with design solutions to address grade challenges and ensure full accessibility.
  • Eastern Extension: Extending the trail from Ault Park to Armleder Park, creating a seamless connection to the Lunken Airport Trail and the Little Miami Scenic Trail, including a critical crossing over Red Bank Road.

When complete, CROWN will link the Wasson Way, Ohio River Trail, Mill Creek Greenway Trail, and Little Miami Scenic Trail into a continuous loop connecting dozens of neighborhoods with parks, schools, and business districts, offering both recreation and sustainable commuting options.

Tri-State Trails, a nonprofit initiative, serves as the key regional oversight by providing leadership and advocacy to make this vision a reality. These projects—supported by the City of Cincinnati, ODOT, Tri-State Trails, and other community partners—advance the goals of the 2023 Green Cincinnati Plan, expanding sustainable transportation, reducing traffic congestion, and promoting healthier, more connected neighborhoods.
